Congratulations to all choirs who took part in this wonderful competition held in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom on Monday 19th March 2024. 30% of Blackpool Primary School choirs participated and were supported throughout but a very large, enthusiastic audience.
With rehearsals taking place throughout the day, the anticipation of the live evening performances only added to excitement of the 450 participating choristers. Repertoire was wider-ranging and contrasting which made listening so easy for all except for our two exceptional adjudicators Mr Graham Warrington and Mrs Chrissie Mason who certainly were challenged by so many wonderful performances.
Our Choir of the Year 2024 winners were Norbreck Primary Academy who sang ‘What a wonderful World’ and ‘What about Us’. Second was Anchorsholme Primary Academy choir and third was St Nicholas C of E Primary School choir. Whilst their performances were outstanding we also want to applaud the fantastic choirs from Roseacre, Stanley, Baines Endowed CE, Devonshire, Waterloo and St Kentigern’s Catholic Primary School. There is no doubt that the musical directors have worked so very hard with their young choirs and each and every contribution was very much appreciated by all.
